As we grow, our families spread out & have families of their own. They travel to different places & we sometimes lose touch with one another or just grow apart.

When I'm working on a memorial, I look for obituaries, news articles & photos (my favorite). This is to show these memorials are more than just headstones. They were people with families, hopes & dreams. They made good choices & bad choices, all passing through life, likely not realizing the impact they made on the lives of others. Each one left a legacy that should not be forgotten, whether it be tragic or joyous. They are our history & how they lived (& died) should be remembered. We learn from those who came before us, hopefully carrying on the good & learning from the bad. We must accept that their times were different from ours, that what may have been acceptable in their time is not acceptable in ours. We cannot change history but we use history to change our future so that when future generations look back on us, they see that we tried to make this world a better place.

I try to be accurate in the items I post & truly appreciate being notified of any mistake. I'm also willing to take down anything I post at the request of any memorial manager, a family member or even friend of the person. I only ask that the request be made with kindness & respect.

I am not possessive of any memorial, other than that of my immediate family. If you would like to manage a memorial assigned to me, please let me know & I'll happily transfer ownership.

So, why do I do this?
1. For the love of family. I feel like I'm helping to bring families back together as I link them to each other.
2. For the love of people trying to find out about the lives of their families. I hope they benefit from what I do.
3. For the love of history. Good or bad, history is what it is & it's our jobs to learn from it.
4. For the love & respect for those who walked this earth before me.

May God bless & keep you all.
