Mary was the eldest child of William Spencer Hatch and Evaline Almena Hyde. She married Christian Ziegler about Genessee County, NY circa 1868, and lived in Parma, Monroe, NY by 1870 from where the family moved c1880 first to Kearney, NE then to Coopersville, Ottawa Co, MI before settling 1884 in LeRoy, Osceola County, Michigan.
Mary's mother Evaline died in 1900 in Coopersville. Her father William Hatch died before 1855 in New York. Mary died in LeRoy, at their family farm.
Christian and Mary had two children:
*William Nelson Ziegler, 1874 – 1941, m. Maude Elmira Cole
*Bertha E Ziegler, 1878 – 1938, m. Josephus Williams, m. James E Hornsby
