This Family Bible of Aca Mercer Meredith, Joseph and Olive's son-in-law and was last known to be in the possession of Quida Hines, Caldwell Parish, LA. It was published in 1852. On page one of the Family Record, the births of both Joseph Peters and Olive Peters are recorded. On page four their deaths are recorded. None are exact matches with the gravestones placed in the cemetery in 1982 but all but the birth of Joseph are close. The Bible dates are:
Joseph Peters
b. June 25, 1794
d. Feb. 3, 1866

Olive Peters
b. Nov.22,1792
d. June 5, 1859

Of particular note is the birth date for Joseph of June 25, 1794. For years debate has continued between the gravestone date of April 15, 1785 and this date of June 25, 1794. Multiple US Census support a year of 1794/5 while none support a 1785 birth year. No other information has been found to support the 1785 year. For this reason and with the support of this Bible information, I have changed the birth year for Joseph Peters on Find A Grave to June 25, 1794.

While I had heard for a long time of the existence of a Bible that provided this information, I appreciate Christy Kelso of California, a descendant, for providing these copies to me. Additionally, she provided copies of the 1857 Bible of Robt. Lee Meredith, son of Aca, later in the possession of Mrs. Sarah Willis of Louisiana which has no birth information for Joseph and Olive but does include their death dates which match those listed above.
