Lester G. Dawes was born July 3, 1905 at Guthrie Center, Iowa and passed away after a brief illness at Festus, MO., on Thursday, October 12, 1950
On November 28, 1931 he was united in marriage with Gladys Anderson. She preceded him in death September 13, 1937.
On December 1, 1944 was united in marriage with Helen Demean at Sioux City, Iowa.
Mr. dawes had been employed by the United State cors of engineers and private contractors.
He held membership in the First Christian Church of Onawa. Lester was a good man and a real friend to all who knew him.
Survivors are his devoted wife, Helen, a daughter, Leila; his mother, Mrs. Viola Treece of Onawa and a sister, Mrs. Paul summons ofSioux Cityy. There are a few other relatives and a host of friends.
His father and two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held on Monday, October 16th, at 2 p.m. at the first Christian Church in Onawa with Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. Mrs. Dorothy Ferris sang "Asleep In Jesus" and "Beyond the sunset" accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Gray at the organ.
Bearers were Harry Wilcox, Henry Boden, Russell Burger, Gordan Murray, John Scott, and O. H. gat?schel. Interment was in the Onawa cemetery with arrangement by the Pearson Funeral Home.
