LAYTON --Junior E. Forbes, age 70, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2000 at his home.

He was born August 13, 1929 in Layton, Utah , the son of Elmer J. and Ila A. Flint Forbes. He married Carol Coombs Fowler on September 1, 1950, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were later divorced. He married Oral Lee Allen on August 10, 1974, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Junior was a self educated man, growing up in Davis County, and had lived in Salt Lake City and Lehi, Utah . He was a horse trainer, and was one of Utah 's greatest. He performed with his show horses in numerous parades throughout the Western States. He was also a life member of the Utah Horse Show Association. He loved to tinker with welding, to fish and hunt, and to go trail riding. He built his own wagon so that he could join the reenactment of the Mormon Pioneer Wagon Train.

He was a member of the LDS Church.

Surviving are his wife, Oral Lee; mother, Ila; two sons and one daughter, Ron J. Forbes, San Jose, CA; Randy C. (Chris) Forbes, Sandy, Utah ; Tammy Forbes, San Jose, CA; his step-daughter, Sharron Anderson, Mill Valley, CA; four grandchildren, Nicole, Randi, Ryan, and Derick; and one step-grandchild, Saara Anderson. Also surviving are four sisters, Blanche (Cecil) Kirk, Layton; Erma Ann Adams, Farr West; Joyce (Don) Gunderson, Clearfield; and JoAnn (Stan) Pollett, Layton. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 31, 2000 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, where friends and family may call on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and on Monday from 12:30-1:45 p.m. prior to services.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
