Blanche Forbes Kirk
(September 27, 1932 - May 8, 2013)

LAYTON – Blanche Forbes Kirk, 80, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 peacefully in her sleep.

She was born September 27, 1932 in Layton, Utah the daughter of Elmer Joseph and Ila Ada Flint Forbes.

Blanche was a life-long resident of Layton. She graduated from Davis High School in 1951.

She married the love of her life Cecil Edward Kirk Jr. on June 16, 1951 in Layton, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Blanche was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a special place in her heart for children. She taught and served in primary for 18 years and tutored at Crestview Elementary.

She was the best mom ever! Blanche would tell you that her greatest accomplishment was her children.

She loved sewing, baking, gardening, writing, genealogy, poetry and crocheting. Mom enjoyed the company of her dear friends and neighbors Lila and Kathryn.

Surviving are her sweetheart of 62 years Cecil Edward Kirk Jr., Layton; sons, Monte (Debbie) Kirk, West Point; Joe Kirk, Hooper, daughters, Patty Brown, Layton; Debbie (Gailyn) Thaxton, Kaysville; Nancy (Nick) Faulkner, Layton; Shelly (Matt) Morgan, Layton; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, her sisters, Erma Adams, Joyce Gunderson and JoAnn Pollett.

Preceded in death by her parents, brother, Junior Forbes, son-in-law, Jerol Brown and grandson, Miles Vigil.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
