Meta Johanna Asendorf Crawford, 96, died August 27, 2004. The lifelong resident of Savannah was born in the Gingerbread House December 8, 1907, daughter of the late Cord and Bernhardine Hagen Asendorf. Her father was the original designer and builder of the Gingerbread House where her family lived until the mid 1970's. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Ascension and a homemaker. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Meta Crawford Green and Elmer L. Green, Jr. of Savannah; grandson, Glen T. Green of Tampa, FL; granddaughter, Laura S. Green of Savannah and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, August 30, 2004 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Graveside service: 11:00 am Tuesday, August 31, 2004 in Bonaventure Cemetery.
