William Fitzhugh Carter is a direct descendant of Robert "King" Carter of VA. He and his wife Sarah (Brown) Carter came from VA in 1857 traveling with a wagon train and first settled in Westport, MO. His occupation was a teamster hauling freight out of Kansas City. He died of a heart attack while hauling freight from Kansas City to Baxter Springs, KS.
