Last rites for Mrs. Wm. Arndorfer, 77. were held Thursday morning. March 17, at St. Benedict Catholic church with burial there. Hamilton Funeral Home was in charge. Pallbearers were Henry, Herbert, Mike, and Joseph Arndorfer, Albert and Fred Germann. Mrs. Arndorfer died at St. Ann hospital on March 15, where she had been a patient only one day. But she had been in failing health for almost two years. Born on June 23, 1877, at Merzalben, Germany, Mrs. Arndorfer was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Germann. In 1894, when sixteen years of age, she migrated to United States, and four years later was married to William Arndorfer who preceded her in death seven years ago. There were six children in the Arndorfer family, of whom five survive. They are: Frances, Mrs. Bernard Capesius, Lu Verne; Helen, Mrs. Joseph Hanig, Ackley; Julian J. Arndorfer, Waterloo; Marie, Mrs. Clarence Siemer, LuVerne; and Philip J. Arndorfer, Algona. There are 15 grandchildren, and eight great- grandchildren, also a brother, Jacob Germann, of Minneapolis. Among those who came from a distance for the funeral were: Jacob Germann, Alvinn and Elsie, Minneapolis; Gustie Kurth, Blue Earth; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Germann, Wells; Fred Germann, Elmore, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kuch, Van Home; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Arndorfer, Gait; Clarence Arndorfer, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Arndorfer, Clarion; Francis Arndorfer, of Britt; Mr, and Mrs. Jim McCaffery, Des Moines; Mr, and Mrs, Lawrence Cobeen .and Robert, Manly. Mrs. Harvie Kampman and .Carol, Dumont; Mrs. Jack Fitzgerald, Mrs. Clyde .Monroe and Cynthia, Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Christensen, of Ackley; Mrs, Lula Ammann and Peter, Geneva; Sister Mary De Sales, Garner; Mrs. Marya Murdock, Big Piney, Wyo.

Suggested edit: Hi -- I wanted to explain my correction before submitting it. Other than adding dates for her birth and death, the main correction is that her parents were NOT Michael and Maria Germann. Her parents were Carl and Theresa Germann. Although she had a brother named Jacob, it was a *different* Jacob Germann than the son of Michael and Maria. Maria's brother Jacob was still alive in 1955. He's mentioned in her obituary, as is the name of her father, Carl Germann.
