Lorin passed away quietly Monday, October 22 at the Veteran's Hospital in Fresno. He was 89 years old.
He is survived by three brothers, Eldon, Bill, and Ruel; three sisters, Effie Woodmansee, Yvonne Quist, and Katherine Dobbs; a son, John; two daughters, Mollie Zundel and Susan Broadaway; eight grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
He has gone to join his loving wife of 65 years, who passed away in September. Two other sisters, Mary Scott and Reva Tupen, have already passed away.
Lorin was in the Army Air Corps during the Second World War, and worked as a millwright afterwards. He retired in 1985 at the age of 67. His talents and hobbies included photography, gardening and furniture making.
Lorin was a faithful member of the Oroville Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where a funeral will be held on Friday, October 26 at 11:00 am. He will be missed by the many friends he made while serving the church in many different capacities. He once said that, of the many things he accomplished, he was proudest of having established the genealogical library at the church.
