FIRN NICKELL

AMARILLO, Texas — Services for Firn Marie Nickell, 83, Amarillo, formerly of
Ada, Okla., were Friday at Ada’s Faith Assembly of God Church. The Revs. Billy
Nickell and Jerad Middaugh officiated. Burial followed at Rosedale Cemetery,
Ada.

Mrs. Nickell died Nov. 12, 2003, at an Amarillo hospital. She was born July 7,
1920, in the Lovelady community east of Ada to Robert Andrew and Roshie Roberts
Sliger.

She attended school at Lovelady and was a member of First Assembly of God
Church in Amarillo. She was a homemaker.

She married Olen James Nickell Dec. 22, 1938. He died Sept. 6, 1974, at Dallas.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy LaRue Nickell, on Feb. 23,
1995.

Survivors include a daughter, Sue Barnes, Amarillo; a son, Billy Nickell,
Amarillo; four brothers, Willard Sliger, Robert A. Sliger, J.B. Sliger and
Royce Sliger, all of Ada; six sisters, Arvana Hobbs, Vera Deaton, Edith Flowers
and Jane Hatfield, all of Ada, Verlie Flowers, Oklahoma City, and June
McCauley, Fort Worth; six grandchildren, Tammy Harvey, Charla Parsley, Felecia
Middaugh, Andrea Daniels, David Morgan and James Morgan; and 10 great-
grandchildren, Brad Harvey, Brandon Parsley, Jonathan Parsley, Kylor Middaugh,
Javin Daniels, Natasha Parsley, Amanda Harvey, Megan Morgan, Ashley Morgan and
Taylor Middaugh.

Bearers are Willard Sliger, Robert Sliger, Royce Sliger, J.B. Sliger, Robert
York and Glen Hobbs.

Donations may be made to Marie Nickell Fund, First Assembly of God Church,
Amarillo, Texas.
