Gertrude, wife of Peter Blackport. Immigrated to America in April 1892 with her family from the Netherlands to Ellis Island on the ship Werkendam. Her parents were Jacobis and Martha LaGrand. She lived on Caulfield Avenue in Grand Rapids most of her life, and was a member of Franklin St. CRC.

Jacobus, Maatje and their six children immigrated to America from the Netherlands. They arrived at Ellis Island on the ship Werkendam (from Rotterdam) April 22, 1892.

1902 Legrands are living at 415 Caulfield Ave. in Grand Rapids.(#887 after 1912),the same house where Peter and Gertrude LaGrand Blackport raised their family.

1900 Census shows a grandaughter Maud DeWinter living with the family.*daughter of Maatje LaGrand DeWinter (1879 - 1899)

After Jacobus death in 1910 Gertrudes mother, Maatje Lagrand age 73 and her brother John Lagrand age 27, are living with her daughter and son-in-law Gertrude and Peter Blackport at 887 Caulfield Ave. in Grand Rapids with their family.
