Born in Germany he came to the United States when he was 9 months old. He arrived with his parents Henry and Johanna (Strenge) Brammann at Ellis Island, New York in May 1909. They settled in Vesta, Nebraska where his siblings were born. Rosa (my grandma), Emma, Anna and George. They eventually moved to Tecumseh, Nebraska where they all attended high school. He met and married first wife, Bertha Mae Ferguson and had one child, Frederick "Freddie" George Brammann. His wife died and unable to care for his newborn allowed him to be raised with his parents. He later married secondly, to Delilah Jane Harwood. To this union were born 4 children; William, Marvin, Dorothy and David. Sometime before this he changed the spelling of his last name, taking off the last "n" in Brammann. So his descendents spell their name Bramman. He and Delilah settled in Hastings, Nebraska where his children grew up.
