Her family moved to Tecumseh, where she graduated from Tecumseh High School. Anne married Frederick S. Stinson and to this union were born five children.
They settled in York where Fred was a barber by trade. Widowed in 1951, Anne worked at York General Hospital and York County Public Power District before starting her own business in York.
Anne was also a member of the York City council for three terms. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in York and active in the church circle.
She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 60 years.
Anne is survived by one son, Gene, and three daughters-in-law, Kay, Jean and Karleen.
Also surviving are six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and all the children of Fairview Manor Daycare who fondly knew her as Grandma Cookie.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Frederick; two infant children; two sons, Robert and Jerry; grandson, Patrick; two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in York. Burial will follow in York's Greenwood Cemetery.
