Pennie Jeansonne Armond
ARMOND Pennie Jeansonne Armond passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 12, 2011, at the age of 100.
Beloved wife of the late Luke Armond. Daughter of the late Joseph Leonard Jeansonne and Ida Firmin Jeansonne.
She was a native of Plaucheville, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA for many years where she and her husband owned and operated a grocery business and after they retired, resided in Jefferson, LA. Sister of the late Leon "Duffy" Jeansonne, Wimmer "Champ" Jeansonne, Pierre Carroll Jeansonne, Edine Jeansonne Dufour and Minnie Jeansonne.
She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
She will be remembered for her quick wit, her sharp mind, and her graciousness, always voicing her gratitude with "Thank you, Cher".
The family would like to thank the staff, nurses and care givers at St. Anthony's Healthcare & Rehab Center for their excellent and loving care over the past 6 .5 years, and St. Joseph Hospice for their care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
