Charles Joe Lowman, 66, of Hiwassee, died suddenly Thursday afternoon at his home. Born in Wythe County April 1, 1901, he was the son of the late Jason Mitchell Lowman and Margaret Hurst Lowman. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Geraldine Meredith Lowman; four sisters, Mrs. Jessie Howard, Danville; Mrs. Nora Leache, Pulaski; Mrs. Jason Wilson, Rt. 4, Pulaski and Mrs. Lottie Riordan, Falls Church. The funeral will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from the Cecil's Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. Carr. Jones officiating, assisted by Mrs. E. S. Mustard. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be John Viers, William Worrell, Rodney Scott, William. J, O'Dell, William D. Peterson and Joe Robinson. Members of the Snowville Ruritan Club will serve as honorary pallbearers. The body will remain at Thomas M, Seagle & Sons Funeral Home until one hour before services.
