Born June 11, 1929 in Summerville, SC, he was the son of the late Charles Hutson and Florence Smith Hutson.
James served in the U.S. Marines Corps. He retired as a maintenance mechanic for the Bayer company.
He loved to tinker and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
James was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Peggy Elliott Hutson; a son, Barry Hutson of N. Charleston; daughter, Kimberly Key and husband Jared of Arley, AL; son, Michael Hutson of Bessemer, AL; special grandchildren, Maxwell and Bryant Key; sister Barbara Hudson of North Charleston; brother Jack Hutson and wife Mary of North Charleston and sister-in-law Doreen Hutson also of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by a brother Charles "Bubba" Hutson.
The family and friends of Mr. and Mrs. James Hutson are invited to attend his funeral services, November 21, 2011, at eleven o'clock a.m. at Carolina Memorial Funeral, with interment following in Carolina Memorial Park.
