Funeral services for George Carnes, 75, of LaHarpe, who died in Peoria Tuesday night as the result of injuries when struck by an automobile, were scheduled to be held in LaHarpe today. An autopsy showed that Carnes had suffered a fractured skull and other injuries.
Mr. Carnes was a farmer, but retired several years ago. He was married to Cora E. Scott Carnes in 1900 at LaHarpe.
Survivors include five daughters: Mrs. Adams; Mrs. Gladys VanWinkle, Peoria; Mrs. Maxine Carter, East Peoria, and Mrs. Luella Waters, Rollins, Wyo., two sons, Vilas Carnes, Peoria, and Atlay Carnes, LaHarpe, and several brothers and sisters.
