Clyde Robbins was born July 30, 1925 in the Hicks Community in Lee County to Richard Lee and Maggie (Smith) Robbins. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, a member of First Christian Church in Rockdale and was a self employed concrete contractor. On March 11, 1950, he and Ivy Doss were married in St. John's United Methodist Church in Rockdale. Clyde passed away on a Tuesday evening in the Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale reaching the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ivy on February 15, 2009. His parents, brothers, Jim and Edwin Robbins and an infant sister, Elsie Robbins. Funeral services for Clyde Robbins were held on Friday, November 18, 2011 at Phillips & Luckey Chapel with Rev. Calvin Springer officiating.
