Funeral services for Edwin Lee Robbins, of Dayton, Texas, 80, were held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 31, 2009 at the Grace Baptist Church in Evans, Rev. David Richmond officiated. The burial followed in the Evans Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville. Mr. Robbins was born on May 29, 1929 in Lee County Texas. He passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston, Texas. He served in the U. S. Army from 1955 to 1957. Mr. Robbins worked for Champion Papers for twenty years and Brazos River Authority & Gulf Coast Water Authority for nineteen years.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Betty Robbins; daughter Sherry and husband, David Walrath; son Rick and wife, Linda Robbins & son Michael Robbins; brothers Clyde, Jim and Danny Robbins; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by daughter Sandra Rhodes and son Robert Robbins.
