Mrs. Henry E. Ferguson
Dies, Funeral Friday
Mrs. Henry E. Ferguson Sr., known to her neighbors and their children as "Ma Ferguson," died at 9:25 p.m. Monday at her home, 633 Oxford Ave. She was 64 years old.
Mrs. Ferguson died just seven months after her identical twin sister, Mrs. Jemima Leetch. They had lived within several blocks of each other since they were married. " Mother seemed lost after Mrs. Leetch died, and we think it helped to bring her death more quickly," a daughter said today.
" Ma was always going about the neighborhood helping the poor and the sick and was well known for her kind deeds. "She would help anyone," a family member said.
Mrs. Ferguson had lived on Covington St. most of her life, moving to Oxford Ave. only recently.
She had lived in Youngstown since 1883, coming here from White Hills, Staffordshire, England, where she was born July 13, 1873, a daughter of the late Joseph and Eliza Dale Ramer (Hamer)-correction. She attended Grace Evangelical Church.
She leaves her husband and 12 children, Mrs. Joseph Moss, Mrs. John Bobovynk, Mrs. Joseph Morthland, Joseph, Richard, James, William, Henry, Thomas and Alexander Ferguson all of Youngstown, Mrs. Martin Riley and Walter Ferguson of Girard; 35 grandchildren and a brother, Allen Hamer, of Warren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at her home.
