Mrs. Mary E. Davis, 86, died Friday (July 13, 2001) in the Satilla Care Center following a short illness. She was a native of Atkinson County but had resided in Waycross most of her life. She was married to the late Jasper Davis and was the daughter of the late Eliza Ann Corbitt McKinnon. She was a member of the Jordan New Congregational Methodist Church. She had worked for McKranie Meat Packing Company for twenty-three years. The survivors include her son, Huey Davis of Callahan, FL; three sisters, Emma Crawley of Jacksonville, FL, Faye Carver of Callahan, FL and Kathleen Sawyer of Yulee, FL; two brothers, James McKinnon of Waycross and Joe McKinnon of Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday (July 16, 2001) in the Music Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will in the Kettle Creek Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
