Mrs. Mildred Rose Ayers Chapman, age 74, of 803 S. Red Rock Road, Toccoa, Ga., passed away Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at the Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Ga.

A daughter of the late Charlie and Susan Holt Ayers, she was born Dec. 26, 1935, in Forrest, Texas, having lived most of her life in Stephens County. She was a retired home health care aid with Tugalo Home Health and was of the Holiness faith. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Earl Chapman who passed away in 1997.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Carol and Danny Holbrooks of Toccoa, Paula and Arthur Byers of Maysville, Ga.; son, Mike Chapman of Toccoa; sister, Mamie Kunz of Trinity, Texas; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Pulliam and the Rev. Aaron Elrod officiating.

The following served as pallbearers, Jeff Rudesal, Kevin Westmoreland, Brian Simpson, Reid Gee, James Burleson and Stacy Weaver.
