Carl Esper Bowden, 89, of Paris, died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 1999, in Christus St. Joseph's Hospital.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 18, in Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Andy Cox officiating.

Burial will be in Knights of Honor Cemetery in Blossom.

Visitation will be from 6-7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will also be at 426 Faucett St., Blossom.

Mr. Bowden was born April 21, 1909, in Oklahoma to Bert Bowden and Alice Ingram Goforth Bowden.

He attended school in Oklahoma and married Freda Georgia Hignight on July 24, 1939, in Paris.

He worked most of his life as a mechanic.

He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters, Harvey Bowden, Ralph Bowden, Woodrow Bowden, and sister, Viola Songer.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, James (Beverly) Bowden of Jamestown, CA, Carlos Wayne (Carolyn) Bowden of Paris, Orlis (Sue Nell) Bowden of Paris, and Roy Harless (Janice) Bowden of Blossom; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Earl Frank Bowden of Paris, George Bowden of Sawyer, OK, Allene Bowden Long of Paris and Connie Bowden Wadford of Paris and Bonnie Crawford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Tony Bowden, Brad Bowden, Jerry Bowden, David Pasternack, Gregg Reavis, and Craig Gallas.
