Geraldine (Worthington) Fales, 85 of Battle Creek, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence surrounded by her family. She was born on August 17, 1926 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Mathis) Worthington. She married Ora J. Fales on December 23, 1943. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2008. Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Linda Lou (Fales) Carlton; sisters, Genevieve (Worthington) Kelly, Betty F. (Worthington) Smith and brother, Donald M. Worthington. She spent her life as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She also worked two years at the Oliver aircraft factory. She enjoyed time with family, gardening and long days at their home in Petoskey. Geraldine is survived by her son, Robert (Mary) Fales of Battle Creek; sister, Janice (Jack) Price of Belle Vista, AR; grandchildren, Jennifer Fales of Howell, MI, Jeff (Julie) Fales of Battle Creek, Robert (Laura) Fales of Windsor, England, Ken Fales of Battle Creek, Jon (Mary) Fales of Foster City, CA, Shana (John) Huerta and Jennifer (Shawn) Coon both of Battle Creek; 8 great grandchildren, Raquel Cartright, Jennifer J. Fales, Ashley Vanderbilt, Dylan, Connor and Jack Fales and Hunter and Cayleigh Coon; several nieces and nephews, especially her devoted niece, Sheila Wofford of Battle Creek. Her love and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ carried her through life's many trials, tribulations, and the illness that she suffered with. She looked forward with eager anticipation for the reunion waiting for her on the other side. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at the funeral home with Pastor Kelly Hadlich of Battle Creek Friends Church officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. www.henryfuneralhome.org
