Robert W. Fales, age 76, of Battle Creek, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021. Bob was born January 27, 1945 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Ora and Geraldine (Worthington) Fales. He was a graduate of Harper Creek High School and Spring Arbor College. Bob served in the U.S. Army Special Forces during the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Purple Heart. Following his honorable discharge, he worked at Clark Equipment Company and later retired from the Kellogg Company. Bob then went on to teach in the Battle Creek Public Schools for several years.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, volunteered with several veterans' organizations and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also loved sports, especially watching his grandkids events, and attending Detroit Tiger baseball games. On February 9, 1979 he was married to Mary Louann (Harris), who survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Jennifer (Caroline) Fales of Livonia; four sons: Jeff (Julie) Fales of Battle Creek, Robert (Laura) Wilson of Windermere, FL, Kenneth (Chloe) Fales of Frazier Park, CA and Jonathan (Mary) Fales of Roseville, CA; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Linda Carlton.

The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. In accordance with the current State of Michigan pandemic orders, masks are required in the building and social distancing guidelines will be followed. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 19, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1312 Capital Avenue S.W., Battle Creek. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
