Floyd R. Rueter, 81, of Falls City, NE, formerly of Lincoln and Alvo, NE passed away July 9, 2007 at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha. He was born August 18, 1925 at Manley, NE to the late Fred and Carrie Rueter.

On December 17, 1979 he married Dorothy Campbell at Lincoln, NE.

Floyd was raised at Alvo, NE where he attended Alvo Consolidated School. He worked for the Rock Island Railroad at Alvo, the George Cook Construction Company and City of Lincoln. After retirement he and his wife Dorothy moved to the Falls City area. His wife died in 1994.

Floyd enjoyed fishing, gardening and raising rabbits; some of the female rabbits were named after his eight sisters.

Floyd is survived by his sisters, Doretta Kellogg of Ashland, NE, Genevieve Stilwell of Omaha, NE, Bernice Brannan of Lincoln, NE, Jeanette Brannan of Springdale, AR; 4 step-children and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother, Willard Rueter, sisters, Blanche Moore, Viva Wiles, Grace Pollei and Berdina Weiler.

Memorial services will be at the Alvo United Methodist Church, Monday, July 16, 2007 at 10:30 AM, Pastor Joan Frenzel officiating. Inurnment will be in the Alvo Cemetery.
