Dorreta was born to Fred and Carrie (Bill) Rueter. She attended grade school in Manley, NE and graduated from Alvo High School in 1938.
She was united in marriage to Harold F. Kellogg on September 15, 1939 in Glenwood, IA.
Doretta worked for Russell Stover Candies in Lincoln, Western Electric in Omaha and was an owner and operator of motels in Dodge City and Independence, KS. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Ashland.
