She had two sisters, Sophia Cushing who married Zenas Steston and Martha Jane who married Captain Hopestill Bisbee. She also had one brother Earl Parcey Sturtevant.
Abigail married Jacob Brown on 28 November 1816 in Sumner, Oxford, Maine. They had eight children: Abigail Cushing, Jacob Brown, Sophronia, Betsey R., Amanda, Mary J., Andrew Jackson, and Stillman.
She died three days after her 14 year old daughter Sophronia.
