Robert (Bob) Getty Sr. July 14, 1941 - May 10, 2011 Bob passed away peacefully on May 10, 2011 surrounded by family. Bob led a productive and joy filled life. He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Getty, and by his two brothers Roy and Bill Getty Jr. Bob is survived by the love of his life and fiance, Jacqui (Getty) Carson; his loving daughter Maria and her boyfriend, Robert Amenta, his son Robert and wife Amie, and 5 grandchildren, Faith, Mary, Matthew, Charlie, Michael, along with 3 loving sisters, Mary Ann and husband Dan Sullivan, Jeanie and George Knop and Carole Corfman and by many loving nieces and nephews especially Michael Getty and many many friends. Bob was born in Pennsylvania of parents Nina and Bill Getty. They moved to California where Bob attended college and joined the Air Force Reserves. He met and married Jacqueline in 1965 at age 24. They moved to Bakersfield several years later where they had a successful Real Estate and Construction business and preschool business. He also had a successful construction business in San Diego and Las Vegas in later years and retired to Oceanside, California by the beach. He was reunited with his love Jacqui after 23 years of being apart in 2010, and they planned to be re-married July 2011. Bob enjoyed traveling to Oregon to visit the Nusoms and the Getty's and to Lake Havasu with the Bento's and Getty boys. He enjoyed visiting Myriam and Jeff and the 5 little ones and dancing anywhere they were playing country music. Bob will be remembered as a nice, kind, gentle man who loved life and all his family, nieces, nephews, and his grandchildren. He always had a smile on his face and a hug for you.
