He was born in Tattnall County, July 1, 1914 to Frank and Lala Tootle DeLoach.
He retired from Georgia Pacific in Savannah after 20 years of service and moved back to the family farm where he loved to grow vegetables. He was an avid fisherman and loved to be outdoors.
He was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church and a member of the Adult Sunday School Class.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Barnhill DeLoach, Daughter, Dellene Johnstone.
He is survived by, son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Charlotte DeLoach of Waynesboro; son-in-law, Jim Johnstone of Columbia SC; sister, Vivian Kicklighter of Glennville; grandchildren, John DeLoach of Columbia SC, Mike Spence (Lisa) of Augusta, Darren DeLoach (Jeanne) of Homer Alaska, Walter Johnstone (Dawn) of Columbia SC, Jay Johnstone of Columbia SC, Julie Stephens (Geoff) of Columbia SC, Bill Blair DeLoach of Augusta, thirteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M., Monday, November 9, 2009 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home.
The family will receive s will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Harmony United Methodist Church.
The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
