He retired from Lewis Ford after 37 years of employment. He was an avid fisherman and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lowell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Zona Rae Kelton Wharton, and one son, Jeffery Lloyd Wharton.
He was 68 when he passed away at his home in Lowell, AR
