Dana graduated from high school in Kelseyville and the nursing program at Skagit Valley College. She also served in the Navy. Dana was a nurse and belonged to the Mechoopda Indian Tribe. She loved crafts, baking, military events, and being involved in the kids sports.
She is survived by her parents, Chester and Carlene Conway of Chico; sons, Manuel Valtierra Ahner of Oak Harbor, WA and Kai Ahner of Northbend, WA; brothers, Gary Simmons of Chico and Fred Simmons of Laytonville, CA; sister, Serena Simmons of Chico; former husband, Dietrich Ahner of Lemoore, CA; step-sisters, Shelly Ables of Anderson, CA and Connie Vigil of Chico, CA.
