Fred Land Dies
Fred Land, 81, 906 Mulberry, died about 3 a.m. today at a local hospital after a long illness. Service will be at
p.m. Friday in the Carter-Smart Funeral Home Chapel of the Roses conducted by Rev. Earl Mooney. Land was born June 3, 1895 in Terrance {should be Tarrant} County, Tex. He came to Duncan in the 1930's and was a retired pipefitter. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Leo Land, and two daughters, Mrs. George (Velma) Teague and Mrs. Lawrence (Jean) Kosfeld, all of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Cora Harvill and Mrs. Mable Bearden, both of Comanche, and Mrs. Donnie Reed of Ralls, Tex. Burial will be in the Duncan Cemetery. Bearers will be Robert Duren, Robert Davenport, James Davis, Robert McMurray, T.O. Chasteen and T.N. Huffman.
