Esta B. Readinger, 95, formerly of Rockland Township, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the widow of the late Earl B. Readinger, who passed Dec. 22, 1997. Born in Rockland Twp., she was the daughter of the late Warren K. and Lizzie (Sterner) Boyer.

She was employed by the former C.A. Wanner Co., Fleetwood, and the former Deisher Knitting Mill, Kutztown, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Christ Mertz Lutheran Church, Dryville, and over a 50-year member of the Fleetwood Grange. An avid quilter, she made quilts for all her children and grandchildren.

Esta is survived by five children: Daniel B., husband of Joan Readinger of Delaware; Alfred B. Readinger of Oley; Vera B. (Readinger), widow of Max Smarr of Mertztown; Samuel B., husband of Michele Readinger of Fleetwood; and Fern B. (Readinger), widow of Joel Fritz of Hamburg. She is also survived by two sisters, Cora (Boyer) Haas of Fleetwood and Minerva (Boyer) Gauker of Fleetwood. Other survivors include six grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Joel B. Readinger, and daughter, Mary Esta Readinger.

Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Dryville. The Mae A. Syump Funeral Home Inc., Fleetwod, is in charge of arrangements.
