Stella Marie Duckworth, 85, of McAlester, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, in McAlester at a local nursing center. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Dorsey Cemetery, McAlester, with the Rev. James Crowson officiating. Burial will be at Dorsey Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory of McAlester. She was born to William and Sarah (Gray) Short Aug. 13, 1926, in McAlester. She was the baby of 13 brothers and sisters. She worked as a nurse's aide at Blevins Nursing Home. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her sons, Troy Duckworth and wife, Kathy, of Haywood; Gregory Duckworth, of Lufkin, Texas, Godfrey Duckworth, of McAlester; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Edith Pike, of McAlester, and other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sarah Short, and 11 brothers and sisters.
