Abbie Craigmiles, 85, of Peoria, and formerly of the Jacksonville area, passed away at 4:12 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria. Born June 28, 1926, in Pearl, to Charles A. and Malinda P. (Dalton) Jackson. She first married Fred Hannel on Oct. 7, 1940. She later married William Craigmiles on Jan. 14, 1959, in Morgan County. Both husbands preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one brother; and two sisters.

Surviving are two sons, Fred (Peggy) Hannel of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Benny (Barbara) Hannel of Murphy, N.C.; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In earlier times, Abbie was active in CB radio circles, known by her handle "Little Scooter." She also loved to garden and grew a number of unusual and difficult varieties of plants, including peanuts and cotton. She had been known to cultivate a rose plant from a grandchild's corsage.

Services were entrusted to Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Services of Peoria, Illinois.
