Surviving are two sons, Fred (Peggy) Hannel of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Benny (Barbara) Hannel of Murphy, N.C.; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In earlier times, Abbie was active in CB radio circles, known by her handle "Little Scooter." She also loved to garden and grew a number of unusual and difficult varieties of plants, including peanuts and cotton. She had been known to cultivate a rose plant from a grandchild's corsage.
Services were entrusted to Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Services of Peoria, Illinois.
