Elizabeth Mae Ramsburg Metz Staub was a daughter of Norman Thomas and Nellie Mary Frances Wachter/Ramsburg and was twice married first in 1942 to Hayes Luther Metz Sr. who predeceased her in January 1971 and married William Staub in 1973 who also predeceased her in 2005.
Elizabeth attended Elementary School at Lewistown, Frederick County, Maryland and High School at Frederick High School while working on the farm of John Arthur Summers near Braddock and graduating in 1939.
After graduating she was employed with P.L. Hargett from 1940 thru 1944 and later years with Frederick Trading Company from 1948 until her retirement from in 1993.
She was a long time member of the Braddock Lutheran Church for over 70 years, was a member of the School House Quilters, she enjoyed traveling, having visited all 50 continental states, quilting, playing Bingo, Genealogy.
She is survived by children, two sons, Hayes L. Metz Jr. and wife Geraldine of Thurmont, daughter, Hazel Jones and husband, Robert, daughter, Claudia Metz/Deeds, daughter, Sandra Newcomer and husband, Russell, son Norman "doc, Reds" Metz all of Frederick, Step-children, William Staub Jr. and wife, Gayle of Loris, SC, Theresa Griffin, Kerriville, TX., Deborah Cleaver and Karen Staub of Hagerstown, brothers, Ralph Ramsburg and wife Betty of Thurmont and Herbert "Herbie" Ramsburg of Harpers Ferry, WV., Granddaughter and one of her caregiver's, Jeannie Russell and other grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends.
Addition to both husbands, Hayes Sr. and William Sr. Elizabeth was predeceased by step-son, Joseph "Joey" Staub, brothers, Paul, Claude, Earl and Ira Ramsburg, sister, Esther Ramsburg, sister-in-law, Frances Ramsburg and daughter-in-law Sue Metz.
