BRIGHTON, Mich. - Sharon Diane Moore, age 78, of Brighton, beloved wife and mother, passed away November 3, 2011, at Arbor Hospice Residence in Ann Arbor.

Mrs. Moore fought a 14-year courageous battle with chronic Myologenous leukemia (CML), and was known by her doctor as her "miracle patient."

She was born December 28, 1932, in Omaha, Neb., an only daughter of Bernard Noel and Dolly Ernestine (Roth) Eistor.

She was married to Bruce "Bud" Friend Moore for 56 years. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2011.

Mrs. Moore was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Parish, Brighton and Phi Delta Gamma.

She supported efforts for the care and shelter of homeless domestic pets and conservation of Gratiot Lake in the Keweenaw Peninsula, near the birthplace of her father, Bernard in Calumet.

Growing up, Mrs. Moore lived in Chicago and Minneapolis and graduated from high school in Gordow City, New York.

She began her lifelong love of learning and educating after graduation from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Education. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by school systems in Lansing, Ann Arbor and then with Pinckney Community Schools as an elementary school educator while raising her three children.

Surviving is her son, Scott (Marilisa) Moore of New York; her daughter Cathy (John) Foster of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Anna Moore, Megan (Robert) Bishop, Mark, John Paul and Patrick Foster; great-grandchildren, kayden and Ryley Bishop.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her son, Shawn Moore in 1985.

Visitation is being held Monday, Nov. 7, 2011 at the Keehn Funeral Home from 2-8p.m. with a service and sharing of memories at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Mary Magdalen Parish. Final visitation begins at the church at 11 a.m. Interment follows in Calvary Cemetery in Brighton.
