Hattie E. Cooper was born at Dexter, Michigan Sept. 12, 1846. She was married to Eli Mundorf while he was a union officer on leave April 18th, 1864. Shortly after the war closed they moved to Missouri where they resided until 1883 when they came to Washington County, Nebr. settling on farm seven miles west of Herman. In 1894 they sold the farm and went to Oregon, but returned the same year, going on a farm east of Tekamah, residing there six years. From there they came to Blair where they made their home until they went to the Soldiers’ Home at Grand Island.

In 1889 she united with the Baptist church at New England, and has kept faith with her church all these years. She was a loving and faithful wife and mother.

After Mr. Mundorf’s death over a year ago, she has lived most of her time with her son, A. W. Mundorf here at Blair, where after an illness of several weeks, she passed away at 1:30 am. Monday, Dec. 12. 1932, aged 86 years and three months.

She leaves to mourn her loss three children, Mrs. J. R. Patrick of Missouri, A. W. of Blair and L. J. of St. Paul, Nebr. and one brother, Henry C. Cooper of Herman.

Funeral services were held at the Bendorf Funeral Home at 2:00 o’clock Wednesday, Dec. 14th, Rev. H. S. Souder of Beatrice, Nebraska officiating. Interment is to be made today, Thursday, Dec. 15th at Grand Island.
