He died at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday in Danville Veterans Hospital, where he had been a patient four years.
Born Sept. 15, 1898, in Auxvasse, Mo. to John N. And Christina Martinschinski Flowers, he married Isla P. Cleer Mellott Jan. 18, 1927, in Peoria.
He was formerly a machinist at Humitube Manufacturing Co. After retiring, he worked at Engineers Union Local 649 Hall. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War I and a member of Trinity Temple.
Surviving are his wife; four sons, Andrew J. Jr. of Pekin, Paul D. Sr. of Marquette Heights, Homer E. of East Peoria and Sgt. Aaron J. stationed in Germany; five daughters, Mrs. Calvin (Wanda) Richardson of Astoria, Mrs. Willis (Martha) Cole of Havana, Mrs. Ed (Carol) Russell of Washington, Mrs. Dan (Christina) Sinacori of East Peoria, ad Mrs. Howard (Leah) Durst of Creve Coeur; one step-son, Louis Mellott of Texas; 31 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
One daughter, two step-children and one brother preceded him in death.
