Claibourne Lawson was a private during the War of Northern Aggression. Enlisting in May 1863 in Narrows. He served in Co B 51 VA inf. CSA. He was captured and became a POW on March 12, 1865 at Waynesboro, Va. He was confined at Fort Deleware, De. He was released on June 20, 1865. He was wounded during the Battle of New Market, losing two fingers on left hand. After the war he married Texas A. Odell on Sept 1, 1873
