Funeral services for Eunice Mae Sullivan, 74, long-time resident of Wagoner will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Wagoner with the Reverend Shannon Davis officiating.

Eunice was born February 25, 1937, in Porter, Oklahoma to her parents, Harold Eubanks and Girtha (Acree) Gaither. At an early age, her family moved to Wagoner where she grew up and was high school drum majorette before graduating. On December 17, 1955, Eunice was married to Vernon Sullivan, a union lasting 55 years. In the ‘60's and ‘70's, she and Vernon successfully owned Sullivan's Restaurant in downtown Wagoner. She returned to school and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education and her Master's Degrees in Guidance and Counseling from Northeastern State University. Eunice began her long career teaching first in Wagoner Public Schools until her retirement and then continuing to teach both G.E.D. classes and Sunday school classes. Eunice was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Wagoner. She organized many church dinners and was a devoted member of the United Methodist Women, serving as president and district officer. She was also a member of the Wagoner Historical Society, P.E.O., the Blue Star Mothers, worked closely with the Order of Eastern Star and enjoyed her time in the Bridge Club. Eunice passed away Saturday, Nov. 5 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

Eunice was preceded in death by her parents; her young brother, Wesley James Eubanks and by two infant grandchildren, Cory Allen Brumfield and Brendan Caleb Kinkade. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Vernon of the home; her children, Phillip Sullivan and his wife, JoNita, Elaina Sullivan, David Sullivan and Brenda Kinkade and her husband, Brian all of Wagoner; 6 grandchildren, Eric and Samantha Sullivan, Cody Brumfield, Matthew Sullivan and Autumn and Sullivan Kinkade, along with another grandson, soon to be born; a great-granddaughter, Hannah Rainey; a sister, Sue Maynard and her husband, John of Boulder, CO.; a brother Harold D. Eubanks and his wife, Marylee of Moore, OK; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Family members serving as pallbearers are Phillip, David, Eric and Matthew Sullivan, Cody Brumfield and Brian and Sullivan Kinkade. Honorary pallbearers will be James Jennings, Jim King, Roger Hayes, Leanna Hughes, Marjorie Richo and Kay Seabolt. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Women and Blue Star Mothers.
