Arleta M. Pryor, 78, of Mulberry, Kansas, passed away at 3:05 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2011 at the Girard Medical Center. She was born September 16, 1933 at Curranville, Kansas, to Ira and Bessie (Payne) Walden. She graduated from Mulberry High School in 1950 and was a lifetime area resident of Mulberry. On January 23, 1951, she was united in marriage to Ted W. Pryor, Sr. at Wichita, Kansas. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last January. Mrs. Pryor was a homemaker. Membership was held in the Mulberry Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star. In addition to her husband, Ted Pryor, Sr. of the home, she is survived by four sons, Ted W. Pryor, Jr. and his wife, Bonita of Mulberry, KS and Tim Pryor and his wife, Susan of Radley, KS, Danny Pryor and his wife, Belinda of Baxter Springs, KS, and Paul Pryor of Arma, KS; ten grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Jack Walden, Kenneth Walden and Calvin Walden, and two sisters, Pauline Morgan and Anita R. Wolters. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday (Nov. 7) at Rosebank Cemetery in Mulberry with Rev. Daryl Gaddy officiating. Friends are requested to meet at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Brenner Mortuary, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Sunday. The family suggests memorials to the Mirza Shrine Transportation Fund or Mulberry Funeral Dinner Fund. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762.
