Mrs. Lora Cook Westmoreland, age 82, of Rt. 1, Magee, died Saturday, March 4, 1978 at 409 Ford Avenue, Jackson in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eunice Sanderford.


Services were held Tuesday, March 7, at 2:00 p.m. from Mims Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Pine Grove Cemetery. Mims Mitchell Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.


Rev. Edd Reed and Rev. Carl Rigby were the officiating ministers.


Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Eunice Sanderford and Mrs. Vondell Burnett both of Jackson; two sons, Ray Luckey, Ocean Springs, Lloyd Luckey, Jackson; one brother, Lesie [sic] Martin, Jackson; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Layton, Mendenhall; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Christine Bryant, Brandon, Mrs. Aline Couvillan, Jr., Drew; one step-son, Larry Westmoreland, Pearl; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.


Mrs. Westmoreland was born in Simpson County, September 27, 1895. She was a resident of Simpson County, a member of Seventh Day Adventists Church and a member of Lela McRaney Chapter OES No. 301, Magee, Miss.

She married Sidney Sinclair Lucky on Feb 10, 1918 in Simpson County, Mississippi, USA. After his death between 1930-1940 she married William Roland Cook, 71. After his death she married Lonnie Westmoreland after 1967.
