Funeral services for Ferd Plathe, 66, were held
Thursday, Aug. 10, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph church, Granville.

Mr. Plathe died at his home Aug. 8, 1978, after a long illness.

Funeral mass was conducted by Rev. Edward Hoffmann, assisted by Father Birdsall of Remsen and Father Becker of Spirit Lake, lector.

Mr. Plathe was bom April 28,1912, in rural Granville. He lived at Remsen from 1938 to 1942 when he was employed by the Remsen tank line.

His marriage to Helen Ricke took place Nov. 14, 1939, at St. Joseph's church, Granville. In 1942 they returned to Granville and had lived and
farmed there since that time.

Mr. Plathe was a member of the Le Mars Eagles.

Survivors are his wife; three sons, Ronald and Bob, both at home, and Steven, Remsen; seven daughters, Mrs. John (Charlene) Keane, Western
Springs, 111.; Sister Judy of Waterloo; Mrs. Junior (Margie) Pottebaum, Alton; Mrs. Dale (Betty) Beckmann, Remsen; Mrs. Dennis (Jan) Meis, Le Mars; Mrs. Daryl (Rosie) Penning, Granville, and Mary of Sheldon; 17 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Arnold (CoUetta) Galles. Mrs. Julius
(Bemice) Galles and Mrs. Elmer (Melinda) Klein, all of Remsen and Mrs. Conrad (Bernadine) Hodapp, Canby, Minn.
