Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, November 23, 1976, he farmed in the Goodhue area for many years and then moved to Red Wing in 1925. Since that time he was employed by the maintenance department of the Milwaukee railroad. He was a member of the First Methodist church.
His wife, the former Harriet Bollum, died March 1 of this year.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Methodist church with the Rev. Warren Nyberg officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Margaret) Sweeney of Little Falls and Mrs. Carl (Bernice) Gustafson of Welch; eight granchildren, three brothers, Otto and Denis of St. Petersburgh, Fla., and Caleb of Elgin, Ill., and Mrs. Lester (Lillian) Hanson of St. Petersburgh, Fla. One brother (George) and two sisters (Marion and Jennie) preceeded him in death.
Friends may call at the Edstrom Funeral Home Saturday from 7-9 p.m., Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. and Monday at the church from 11 a.m. to the time of the services.
