Last rites for Mrs. Ellen Adams, 84, long time Summerfield resident were held August 19 from the Methodist church there with the Rev. Henry G. Dutcher, Beattie, in charge of the services. Interment was in the Summerfield cemetery.
Born Ellen D. Estabrook November 12, 1862 at Shelburn, Vermont she spent her childhood there. She married Homer E. Adams September 11, 1862 (sic), at Faragut, Iowa, and moved to Summerfield in 1889 where she has resided since. A member of the Methodist church since she was 14 years old, she died at her family home August 15.
Two children and her husband preceded her in death. Survivors are six children, who are: Earl H. Adams, Mrs. J. E. Goins, Ray C. Adams and Miss Helen Adams, all of Summerfield; Mrs. J. D. Fulton, Beattie and Mrs. E. R. Young, Marrietta; also 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
