Myrlin Davenport, 76, of Charlevoix, and formerly of Topinabee, died May 16, 1986 at the Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan following a long illness.
Mr. Davenport was born June 16, 1906 near Cheboygan, the son of John and Sylvia Davenport.
He married the former Mayme Gustafson in August of 1929 in Detroit. The couple owned and operated the Davenport Grocery in Topinabee from 1946-78. They then moved to Alabama and two years later to Charlevoix.
Mr. Davenport was a life-member of the Eagles Lodge of Cheboygan.
Survivors include: his wife; Mayme of Charlevoix; one son, Myrlin of Ludington; four daughters; Mrs. Robert (Norma) Shorter of Warren, Mrs. Douglas (Janet) Arrington of Mobile, Ala., Mrs. Myrl (Joanne) Keller of Charlevoix, Mrs. Harold (Karen) Ringler of Grand Rapids; 11 grandchildren; one brother Earl of Owosso, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Nordman Funeral Home in Cheboygan, with burial in the Burt Mullett Cemetery, Topinabee.
