Anna Dravis was 31 years old when she came with her husband, Theodore, and their two small children to the United States in 1880. Her husband died 11 years later.

Anna Shilling Dravis, aged 87, of 512 West Monroe street, died in her residence at 11:30 o'clock Tuesday night after four weeks illness. She was born in Germany Dec. 8, 1849, and came here 57 years ago from Germany. She was the widow of Theodore Dravis, Surviving is a son, William Dravis, at home. The body will lie in the Nemeth mortuary tonight.

The funeral of Anna Shilling Dravis, 512 West Monroe street, will take place at 9 o'clock Friday morning in St. Mary's Roman Catholic church. Rev. Michael Oswald, C.S.C., pastor, will sing the requiem mass and burial will be in Cedar Grove cemetery. Mrs. Dravis was the oldest member of the Altar society of St. Mary's church. The body will lie in the Nemeth mortuary until the funeral.

NOTE:
Anna's name was listed as Anna "Shilling" in the 1930 U.S. Census. Her name was listed as Anna "Schilling" in the obituary of her daughter, Willhelmina "Minnie" (Dravis) Van Huffle in 1936. It is unclear if the name Schilling is Anna's maiden name or if she married someone with that name after the death of her husband, Theodore.
